If you are unfortunate enough to have an accident or a medical emergency on a canal or river, it could take some considerable time for the emergency services to reach you. The ambulance service will not necessarily be able to relate to bridge or lock numbers and there may be no road access to the canal where you are.
First Aid is all about dealing with medical situations to maintain life, or ensure the casualty does not get worse, in the time it takes for help to arrive. It also gives you the knowledge to deal with minor injuries effectively and correctly
Our one day course covers treatment of a all the most common types of boating and domestic injuries from the minor up to the most serious. You will also learn how to deal with heart attacks, drowning, cold shock and hypothermia.
We will be offering course dates near our base as well as arranging courses at marinas around the country. So if you would like one at your marina, please get in touch.
