This is the Gold Standard of Inland Waterways training. Spend a highly enjoyable day on the Grand Union Canal with our experienced RYA Instructor. You will be taken through the whole RYA syllabus, covering boat handling in theory and practice, rope work, locks and many other skills. You will leave the course knowing all you need to know to handle a narrowboat with confidence.
This course can also be done on your own boat and/or on the River Thames
For those with some boating experience, a one day course should be suitable.
For those who would prefer a slower pace there is a two day option.
CEVNI is "The Highway Code of the European Waterways". Together with your Inland Waterways
Helmsman's Certificate. or ICC Assessment, it allows you to apply for your International
Certificate of Competence, for use on European Waterways
For those who wish to use a boat on the European Waterways and have a great deal of experience already we offer a half day assessment for the International Certificate of Competence.
This assessment uses the same criteria as the RYA IWHC course. No tuition is provided, so you should be certain that you can complete the whole course syllabus before booking this assessment.
